Value Proposition

Cross-portfolio Efficiency Improvement

Our approach also enables us to:

  • Monitor development in real time
  • Transfer knowledge that we learn from one portfolio company to all of them, improving the learning curve for all parties
  • Use information gathered from one company to help boost operations for some or all of our portfolio companies
  • Develop alternative business models that improve profitability and competitiveness

Patience – We understand the ups and downs your business faces so you can move at your own pace.

Smart Money

We will be there to provide you with guidance throughout the life of your company and may also help you find additional capital when you need it by serving as advisors, venture capitalists, and strategic partners (usually for large companies).

Smart money investors can help you gain exposure to the key people in your space; these individuals will talk about your startup with the people they socialize and do business with. This increases your odds of getting key advisors, partnerships, collaborations, customers, suppliers and additional capital.

In addition, these investors will give you the right advice, as they understand the dynamics of your industry. For example, they will be familiar with: the research and development (R&D) path, regulatory hurdles, time to market and time to revenue, the lifetime value of a customer, valuations, capital requirements, value inflection points, reasonable financial projections, exit strategies, competitive differentiators, the client pipeline, and earnings before interest, taxes and amortization (EBITA), among other factors. Trying to find funding outside of those who have this level of industry intelligence will create questions about all of these items, especially valuation.

The smart money deal will get done faster, allowing you to make progress towards your company goals and ultimately help you grow your business. It will be there to provide you with guidance throughout the life of your company and may also help you find additional capital when you need it.

How We Invest

Our investment strategy prefers majority transactions, which can also be achieved through capital increases, and the development of innovative business models, starting from the value chain. In certain condition we can accept being minority shareholder.
Early Stage, Series A and B

We provide early-stage (pre-seed) and series A (seed) financing for start-ups, but also we are ready to consider series B rounds aimed to taking businesses to the next level, past the development stage, expanding its market reach, and growing the company so that it can meet generated levels of demand.

Investment Process

  1. Finding, valuing, and pricing investments (pre-deal assessment)
  2. Managing, scaling-up, optimizing or harvesting synergies with portfolio companies (post-deal)
  3. Exiting investments or taking over 100% to keep as a legacy asset

Algorithmic Trading

Why Algo Trading?

Algo trading is one of the most visible proofs of progress made in the digital transformation of enterprises around the world. As a private investment firm, we are particularly interested in algo trading as a certain portion of our investment pool must be kept in liquid assets, which need to be quickly accessible. In addition, algo trading is more efficient, smarter, and less costly when managing liquid assets compared to entrusting them with professional assets managers who are usually expensive and ineffective.

We believe that algorithmic trading is the future and growing access to a significant pool of human capital which can help us to develop new algo trading strategies in our reach. Therefore we would like to benefit from available human capital through digital access channels, offering young people the opportunity to test their investment strategies and build effective algorithms using our back testing systems and data. We have over 20 years of experience on capital markets and we believe that we can achieve positive results togther.

Algo trading is not as complex as it seems upon first glance because there are many trading strategies which can be developed and programmed by a single individual. Additionally, trading with algorithms has the advantage over a traditional investment firm since they do not require an expensive team of professionals. In the future, we will probably witness a high-level automation of the financial market that differs from what we see today. These algorithms will become more complex as algorithmic trading will be able to adjust to different patterns using AI.

Our algo trading systems will allow for scanning, backtesting, and executing on multiple financial instruments at a speed that no human could reach. Since historical trades and prices of different financial instrument can be analyzed faster to create new algo strategies, more opportunities shall be available in the future. With algo trading, you can run the algorithms based on past data to see if it would have worked in the past. All these features actually allow for the reduction of necessary human input as well as costs, and instead require only fast, efficient and reliable IT back-testing and trading systems, which we have.

Living in the Future

Currently, 84% of trades performed in NYSE, 60% in LSE, and 40% in NSE were done using algorithmic trading. Algo trading has become popular because it is not only effective but also has become accessible for semi-professional investors due to falling barriers of entry such as prohibitory costs. We want to benefit from the fact that costs are decreasing and explore the growing opportunities on less developed markets. In the meantime, we believe that the increasing popularity of new financial instruments such as exchange-traded funds (ETF) increases the scope of possibilities for us.

We would like to participate in active cooperation regarding financial instruments utilizing algorithms to make smart money investments.

The iterative process encompasses programming and back-testing through the stages of:
a) Conceptualization
b) Application
c) Program development
d) Test verification.

With positive results, we can execute on deployment and share profits. We perpetually welcome investment concepts, ideas, and strategies in pursuit of this goal. According to the principles of arbitrage, successful algo trading may take place by locating niche markets or instruments with poor liquidity, establishing a platform (the channel from our order management system to the brokerage house system) for the stock exchanges, and then generating algo tools with deliberate design and calculated function. The concept is then extrapolated to a larger scale process.

The Goldilocks Principle

Algorithms provide an unerring extension of human cognition. The massive utility of implementing algorithmic processes is that optimization may be achieved no matter the size of the window of availability. Improvement is viable throughout all scales of infrastructure. No exploit is too small or too large for algorithms to execute.

At Nutit, we are similarly neither too small nor too large to make use of algo implementations. If you engineer a provocative algo trading concept, idea, or strategy then please reach out to us. Members of student communities, startups, and incubators are especially valuable in this avenue, and financial backgrounds are not required or even necessarily preferred. A good idea is its own merit, particularly if it produces a solution in advance of the problem.
